My relationship with ballet began when I was a little girl, through my mother.
I was an incredibly energetic child and always moving and full of energy. My mother introduced me to “Russian Ballet” because she wanted to give that energy somewhere to go. Ballet became a way for me to slow down, relax, develop control, and learn how to carry myself with grace. As well as the strictest and precision that Russian Ballet brought.
What began as something my mother chose for me became something that stayed with me.
Ballet taught me much more than steps and positions. It taught me to become aware of my body and intentional about the way I moved. It taught me posture, patience, balance, strength, flexibility, discipline, control, and the beauty of slowing down enough to pay attention to even the smallest movement.
Those lessons followed me into adulthood.
As an adult, life can move incredibly fast. We're constantly thinking, working, planning, rushing, and carrying responsibilities. I realized that what ballet gave me as a little girl is something adults can benefit from too: permission to slow down, breathe, become present in the body, and turn our energy into intentional movement.
That realization became the heart behind Ballet Core Method.
I wanted to take what ballet gave me and create an experience specifically for adults; especially adults who have never danced before.
By bringing my ballet background together with Pilates-inspired conditioning, Ballet Core Method creates an opportunity to strengthen and tone the body without relying on weights while working on posture, flexibility, mobility, balance, coordination, control, body awareness, and graceful movement.
I don't believe movement has to feel punishing to be meaningful.
A Ballet Core session is an opportunity to step away from the rush of everyday life for an hour and intentionally slow down, breathe, focus, move, and reconnect with your body.
You don't have to be a ballerina. You don't need years of dance training.
You simply get to experience what happens when strength meets grace and movement becomes intentional.
In a way, Ballet Core Method brings my story full circle.
My mother introduced me to ballet to teach me how to slow down and move with grace. Now I get to take what ballet gave me and share it with other adults.
That is why I created Ballet Core Method.
